African Women Council, Inc. is a nonprofit humanitarian national and international organization whose mission is to empower women and children to improve their lives in Montgomery County, Maryland and in Africa through access to information, literacy, health education, civic participation and entrepreneurship.

Arts for the Aging (AFTA)

Engaging older adults in health improvement and life enhancement through the arts, AFTA trains and supports a faculty of professional teaching artists who lead workshops for groups of seniors in under-served partner agencies: day care centers, community centers and nursing homes that typically are nonprofit and focused on safety-net services for older adults — those who are vulnerable and frail.

Asian-American Homeownership Counseling, Inc. (AAHC)

Through providing counseling, education, tools, and resources, AAHC was established to empower and inspire low-moderate income communities to achieve and maintain the American dream of homeownership.  AAHC increases homeownership success by placing individuals on the road to financial self-sufficiency.  AAHC is a HUD approved housing counseling agency.

Building Educated Leaders for Life (BELL) Foundation is to create high-quality learning opportunities for the children who need them most to develop their skills, interests, and determination to excel.

Bikur Cholim of Greater Washington

Bikur Cholim of Greater Washington is a not-for-profit, volunteer based service organization that provides assistance to people facing medical and related challenges.

Center for Nonprofit Advancement

The Center for Nonprofit Advancement expands professional development opportunities, access and capacity for nonprofit organizations throughout the Washington D.C. region and the Commonwealth of Virginia. We also help the region’s nonprofit organizations amplify their voice on issues that matter most.

Chinese American Senior Services Association (CASSA)

Working all in Chinese, CASSA provides social service information to assist seniors to adapt more readily to life in American society; they organize senior groups to conduct community services and social events to advocate for senior benefits and rights; provide a platform for senior activities to promote both the mental and physical health of the participants; and lastly provide opportunities for seniors to participate in volunteer works, and help seniors to build their self-confidence and self-esteem.

Community Residences

CR offers individuals with disabilities supportive housing and the physical, mental and emotional services needed to facilitate independent and dignified living within the community.

Empowered Women International (EWI)

A dynamic women’s entrepreneurial development organization, Empowered Women International creates social empowerment and economic opportunity for immigrant, refugee and American-born women who face challenging economic and personal circumstances in the greater Washington, DC, metropolitan area.

Girls on the Run

The mission of Girls on the Run is to inspire girls to be joyful, healthy and confident using a fun, experience-based curriculum which creatively integrates running. They envision a world where every girl knows and activates her limitless potential and is free to boldly pursue her dreams.

GloryStar Children’s Chorus

Glorystar Children’s Chorus is a multicultural children’s chorus that provides training and activities to children to give them the experience and joy of singing together but also foster harmony, a sense of pride and self-confidence through teamwork, discipline and responsibility.

Health and Environmental Funders Network (HEFN)

The Health & Environmental Funders Network (HEFN) works to mobilize philanthropy around solutions for environmental health and justice. It is the “go-to” place for grantmakers interested in environmental health and justice issues, whether they’re exploring the field or deeply engaged.

Interfaith Families Project of Greater Washington (IFFP)

Maryland Nonprofits

Based in Balitmore, with a satellite office in Montgomery County at the Nonprofit Village, the mission of Maryland Nonprofits is to strengthen, educate, and engage nonprofit organizations, so they can successfully achieve their missions.

Metro Maryland Ostomy Association (MMOA)

MMOA is dedicated to the complete rehabilitation, emotionally and physically, of all persons living with an ostomy.

Montgomery Coalition for Adult English Literacy (MCAEL)

Dedicated to strengthening the county-wide adult English literacy network with resources, trainings, collaborations and advocacy MCAEL supports a thriving community and an optimal workforce.

National Federation of Families for Children’s Mental Health (NFFCMH)

The National Federation’s mission is to provide advocacy at the national level for the rights of children and youth with emotional, behavioral and mental health challenges and their families; to provide leadership and technical assistance to a nation-wide network of family run organizations; and to collaborate with family run and other child serving organizations to transform mental health care in America.

National Postdoctoral Association (NPA)

The National Postdoctoral Association (NPA) is an educational nonprofit organization that seeks sustainable change and improvement for the postdoctoral experience through collaboration with all stakeholders. They advocate for policies that promote positive change in the postdoctoral experience, develop and provide resources that postdocs and administrators need for success, and provide opportunities for the postdoctoral community to connect.

New Orchestra of Washington (NOW)

The New Orchestra of Washington’s mission is to make music relevant to new generations of audiences through virtuosic performances that combine a diversity of genres with fresh interpretations of classic works. Unconstrained by the structure or repertoire of traditional orchestras, NOW is both modern and sustainable, proving how orchestral and chamber music can not only survive but flourish in the 21st century. NOW embodies mutual respect and admiration for each other’s artistry and a common belief in the importance of revitalizing the role of music in our lives.

Pain Connection

Pain Connection is a nonprofit organization dedicated to empowering people with chronic pain to improve their quality of life, decrease their sense of isolation and take a more active role in their treatment.  Its programs of providing support groups, specialized classes, a speaker series, training and supervision of mental health professionals on chronic pain, a newsletter on relevant issues, information and referrals, and community outreach and education.

Real Food for Kids Montgomery (RFKM)

RFKM is a Montgomery County Public School system that serves and promotes real, whole, local, sustainable and nutrient-rich foods for a student body that selects and eats those foods. The mission of RFKM is to mobilize parents, students, educators and community members to promote policies, practices and educational opportunities that improve the food environment and general health and well-being of students in the Montgomery County Public Schools.

Save a Child’s Heart (SACH)

SACH’s mission is to improve the quality of pediatric cardiac care for children from developing countries who suffer from heart disease and to create centers of competence in these countries.  SACH’s local office is housed in the Nonprofit Village.
