Stirring Words & Music Highlight Concert for Nonprofit Village

On Sunday, October 9, 2011, Potomac United Methodist Church hosted a concert titled, “Faiths in Action” to benefit the Nonprofit Village. Guest speakers Connie Morella and Anna Hargrave gave insightful and inspirational addresses. The Reverend Dr. Ann Laprade welcomed guests and was followed by an invocation from Rabbi Stuart Weinblatt of Congregation B’Nai Tzedek. The honored guests were introduced by Montgomery County Councilmember Phil Andrews. Music included stirring classical numbers and an original “Medley of Hope” created by the Washington Vocal Artists’ Director, Rosemary Dyer. The audience gave the artists a heartfelt standing ovation. The event raised almost $5,000 for the Nonprofit Village.
