Nonprofit Village "Friendraiser" Event a Success

The Nonprofit Village Board of Directors and its Honorary Co-Hosts -- Catherine Leggett, Courtney Clark Pastrick, Carol Trawick, & Clarice Dibble Walker -- celebrated the Nonprofit Village, its tenants, its supporters and its friends at the home of Clarice and George Walker.

Over 100 attendees enjoyed conversation, the Walker's hospitality and catering provided by Through the Kitchen Door & Sunflower Bakery. Some of the guests included County Executive Isiah Leggett and members of his team Chuck Short & Bruce Adams; Sheldon Grosberg, board member, & David Gamse, executive director, Jewish Council for the Aging; Mr. & Mrs. Gary Jonas; Craig Pascal of PNC Bank; Betsy Mead, President of the Mead Family Foundation. In the spirit of collaboration, the Clark Charitable Foundation, the Nonprofit Advancement Fund of the Community Foundation for Montgomery County, PNC Bank and Sanford & Doris Slavin Foundation have teamed up to grant $50,000 to the Nonprofit Village to kick off its It takes a Village to raise a Village campaign. This funding foursome is challenging the Nonprofit Village, its friends, and its supporters, to match dollar for dollar the $50,000 by December 31, 2010. The purpose of this campaign is to raise needed operating dollars for the Village AND to expand the network of friends, tenants, volunteers & financial supporters needed to ensure the Village's success.
